It cooks both easily and well, but starchy water sputters out of the vent on the top and runs down the outside, even when cooking just 2 cups of dry rice. The lid and gasket are not removable, making it hard to clean the gasket and impossible to clean under/behind the perforated metal baffle inside the lid. Further, starchy water puddles up on the inside rim, requiring determination, and perhaps a Q-tip, to really clean out all the little crevices. The non-stick coating is very good, so rice does not stick. Cleans up in the dishwasher OK. I have not used the steaming function yet. I do not expect this cooker to last very long, but the price is not bad… so, I guess it’s OK for now. |
