| Warranty | I bought this device 9 years ago and it failed last week. Looked at the warranty and it said 5 years. I resigned myself to getting another one but just to see other options I went to a local kitchen supply store and found the “the same”make and model there but it had a 10 warranty. It was $5 more in the store but I bought it. Then I weighed the two “identical “ machines and found the one I purchased locally was 3 oz heavier. I took the broken one apart and found that the internals did not match the pictures and YouTube videos I had seen on line and in fact it had a plastic part where the pictures online had all metal parts. Also the fit and finish on my new machine was much nicer than the one I had gotten from Amazon in 2009. Just to be sure we compared my two machines (the 2009 Amazon purchase and my new one purchased locally) to a friend’s 20+ year old machine. I do not know about the internals but the weights of my new one and the 20+ y/o one matched exactly.I hope that Amazon has not gone the way of some big box stores and have their own cheaper versions that pretend to be the “real thing”. Maybe it was just a design change by the manufacturer that was recalled. |
