But I am in my mid-fifties, which means I have about 40 years of experience boiling water in a pot on the stove top. NEVER in my life, not even once, have I ever been confronted with a sauce pot lid that could not be lifted from a pan of boiling water without burning your fingers. Until now. One picture attached with this review shows the aftermath of me bringing a pot of water to a full boil and lifting the lid. The lid handle of this Michelangelo pot was so hot that I dropped the lid — it was literally too hot to handle. On the plus side, I can confirm the glass is tempered and breaks into small square pieces instead of sharp slivers.Before I dropped the lid, I was trying to see how far up the pot’s handle I could grab before being burnt. The handle on this 3 quart pan is fairly short. Filled with about 2 quarts of water, the pan is heavy, requiring someone of my years to grasp the handle close to the pot. The handle is just way too hot in this case; I could not even pick up the pot laden with boiling hot water. A good thing, I suppose of I might have dropped the whole pot, lid and boiling water and all. |
